About online casino bonuses
There are any number of different types of bonuses offered by online casinos,
and each has a different set of rules so before you decide to take advantage of
a bonus offer, make sure you read through the most current Terms &
Conditions for each bonus, irrespective of how long you've been playing at the
casino. It's important to remember that you aren't required to accept a bonus,
so the online casino may not place any conditions on anything you do with your
own money.
Some Free- or No Deposit Bonuses are cashable, others are not, and some set
a limit on how much cash you can take out. Once again, read the small
print and understand the terms and conditions before you accept a bonus.
All but a few bonuses come with "Wagering- or Playthrough
Requirements". This means that you are required to gamble that money a
certain number of times, before you can request any of your winnings as cash
out. Find out if the Playthrough Requirements include your initial
deposit in the total - some do, some don't.
So for example, let's say an online casino has a wagering requirement of 15x.
This means that if you deposit $200 and accept a bonus of $200, Add the
two together and you get $400. The 15x Playthrough Required means
that you must turnover $6000 in total bets, whether you win or lose, before
requesting any cash out.
Most casinos have a list of games that you're not allowed to play to
fulfill the Playthrough Requirements for the bonus. Excluded games would
typically include Craps, Blackjack, certain bets on Roulette, and certain Video
Poker games. Make sure you check the list of games excluded before you accept a
bonus.
A recent trend in online casinos, which is making gambling easier for
the recreational gambler, is "sticky bonuses". These bonuses are
never cashable themselves. You gamble with the bonus, and if you win
anything from it, you can cash out your winnings but not the bonus. Sticky
bonuses usually have Playthrough Requirements which are much lower than those of
other bonuses. Sometimes casinos remove the sticky bonus from your account
when you cash out your winnings. Other simply leave the sticky bonus in
your account until such time as you lose it during the course of your play.
